5 Days Tour from Marrakech to Merzouga

We’ll pick you up from your accommodation in Marrakech at 8:40 a.m,  and take you on 5 days desert tour from Marrakech to Merzouga desert via the magnificent Atlas Mountains, taking in the breathtaking landscape along the way.

As we go up the lofty heights of the Tizi N Tichka pass at 2260 meters, we’ll stop to visit some Berber villages nestled in the Atlas Mountains. Our next destination is Ouarzazate, reached by the scenic Talouet route. Following that, we’ll stop by the well-known Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, which is famous for films producers including Gladiator, The Mummy, and Game of Thrones. Then continue our 5 days desert tour through Ouarzazate, also known as the “Hollywood of Africa,” where we will visit the film studios and the famous Taourirt Kasbahs. Following a delicious lunch in Ouarzazate.

We’ll go via Skoura, which is known for its numerous kasbahs, and see the spectacular fortified Kasbah of Ameridile. Our trip then takes us to the breathtaking Dades Gorges via Kalaat M’gouna, commonly known as the Rose City. By late afternoon, we’ll arrive in  Dades Gorges and drop you off at your Kasbah where you’ll spend the first night of your 5 days tour from Marrakech to Merzouga.

In the morning, we’ll drive to Tisadrine, a beautiful wavy road. Following that, we continue our 5 days tour from Marrakech to Merzouga to our next destination,  the Todra Gorges, a haven for climbers and nature enthusiasts alike. Here, we’ll have the opportunity to explore the awe-inspiring canyons, which soar up to 300 meters in height. Keep your eyes peeled for Berber Nomads tending to their goats near the spring.

Next, we’ll travel through Tinghir palm groves  and Tinjedad, stopping for a delicious lunch along the way. Next, we’ll continue our journey to the Sahara desert of Merzouga.  Stopping at a local cooperative on the road to Merzouga to learn about Berber culture and try on Berber weeding dress (optional).

Later on, we arrive in Merzouga desert where you’ll begin your camel ride adventure crossing the dunes of Merzouga. Stopping to wach an incredible sunset then continue to your desert camp where you’ll spend the second night of your 5 day tour from Marrakech to Merzouga.

Wake up early to watch the breathtaking sunset, then return to your desert camp for breakfast. Following that, begin the tour around Merzouga desert by visiting nomad families behind the dunes; learn about their lifestyle and enjoy a Berber Pizza. Next, continue our day tour to the Mefis desert, where we will see fossils mines. Later, we travel to Khamlia, where you will meet a musical group from Mali and learn about their distinctive way of life. Late afternoon, we continue our excursion to Hassi Lbeid Oasis, free time to try buggy or quad ride (optional). After that, we’ll transfer you to your accommodation where you’ll spend the night.

After being done with the Sahara desert of Merzouga, we continue our 5 days desert tour from Marrakech to Merzouga by making a visit to Moulay Ali Cherif Mausoleum then visit the local souks in Rissani where nomads acquire their supplies. Following that, we drive across the black mountains, Jebl Sghrou, and enjoy the best views of the grey desert. Then Stop for lunch in Alnif, drive across the natural landscapes. late afternoon, arrive in Nkob, famous as the Kingdom of Kasbahs, admire the ancient kasbahs and walk through its enchanting palm groves immerse yourself in local life. Late afternoon, you will be transferred to your kasbah where you’ll spend the night.

Wake up to amazing sceneries of the palm groves of Draa Valley as the morning unfolds. Following a satisfying breakfast at your accommodation in Nkob, we continue on a drive towards Ouarzazate, Hollywood of Africa, via Agdez, treating you to splendid sceneries of oases en route. Along the journey, we’ll Stop at Ait Souen to soak in its picturesque landscapes.

Traversing through the city of Ouarzazate, we’ll also make a stop at an Argan oil cooperative nestled atop the majestic High Atlas Mountains. By late afternoon, we’ll reach Marrakech, where we’ll transfer you to your accommodation or to airport in Marrakech, concluding  your memorable 5 days tour from Marrakech to Merzouga with memories to remember.
