Top Itinerary of 12 day desert tour from Fes to Marrakech:

Day 1:Arrival in Fes:

Upon arrival in Fes, our driver will be waiting for you to welcome you and transfer you to your accommodation where you’ll spend the night.

Day 2:Fes Full day sightseeing tour:

After breakfast, you’ll meet your tour guide for a city tour of Fes, the first imperial city of Morocco and a UNESCO World Heritage Site, founded in the 9th century. Fes is also home to the world’s oldest university.  Following that, make a visit to the entrance of Morocco’s largest royal palace and admire its golden doors. Followed by a drive to Borj Nord for the amazing panoramic views of the medina.

You’ll visit a pottery cooperative to see the creation of tiles and Moroccan mosaics, and explore the famous tanneries where the animal leather is used to make clothes, shoes and bags. The tour also includes stops at a Medrassa attarine (Koranic school), the Nejjarine fountain, and Moulay Idriss mausoleum, the founder of the city. 

After hearty lunch at a local restaurant, visit Batha museum is a former royal palace of Fes was built on the 19th century. Following that, we’ll transfer you to your accommodation where you’ll spend the second night of your 12 day desert tour from Fes to Marrakech.

Day 3:Fez - Chefchaouan - Tangier (4H):

In the morning, we’ll leave Fes heading toward the charming blue town of Chefchaouen, located  in the Rif Mountains. Enjoy a leisurely walk through the winding old Medina of Chefchaouan, where the streets, doors, alleyways,  and buildings are painted in vibrant shades of blue.

The city exudes a unique charm, especially in the main square and its cobblestone medina. Relax at a café terrace and take in the view of the Spanish mosque,  you’ll also see Andalusian architecture in the Kasbah and its gardens, located at the heart of the medina.

After lunch, you’ll head to the northern city of Tangier, enjoy the beautiful drive along the way, make a visit to Akchour waterfall, one of the natural wonders in the region. Upon arrival in Tangier, admire the unbelievable views of the Atlantic Ocean and the famous Strait of Gibraltar, offering perfect photographing opportunities. Stroll through narrow streets lined with colorful doors, blending ancient and modern architecture. Later on, we’ll make a visit to Cape Spartel where the Atlantic ocean meets the Mediterranean sea. After that, we’ll transfer you to your accommodation where you’ll spend the night.

Day 4: Tangier - Rabat (2H):

In the morning and after breakfast at your accommodation in Tangier, we’ll head to Rabat, Morocco’s Capital city taking in  the finest sceneries along the way. Stopping at Assilah, one of the coastal cities. We’ll then  continue to Rabat, Morocco’s capital city.

Arriving in Rabat, visit Hassan Tower, an incomplete mosque from the 12th century. Next, admire the Mausoleum of Mohamed V.  Next, explore the Oudaya Kasbah, a 12th-century fortress with a peaceful, charming view.  Later on, we’ll make a visit to Chellah, walk along its vibrant souks. Following that, transfer you to your Riad where you’ll spend the fourth night of your 12 day desert tour from Fes to Marrakech.

Day 5:Rabat - Casablanca - Marrakech (4H):

After breakfast, we’ll drive from Rabat to Casablanca for a city tour, starting with the impressive Hassan II Mosque, which opened in 1993 and is considered the second largest mosque in Africa. The mosque can take around  25,000 worshippers and is one of the few religious sites open to non-Muslims.

Take a moment to enjoy the tranquility of the Atlantic Ocean before continuing with a short drive through Casablanca’s old Medina, you’ll visit Mohamed V Square, the Habous quarter. Following that, we’ll continue your 12 days tour from Fes to Marrakech to the red city of Marrakech, taking in the lovely sceneries along the way. Arriving in Marrakech transfer you to your accommodation where you’ll spend the night.

Day 6:Marrakech Full day sightseeing:

After breakfast, your local guide will take you on a tour of Marrakech, starting with visits to historical sites. First of all, we’ll visit Bahia Palace,  built in the 19th century, the Saadian Tombs, a 17th-century Royal necropolis, and then visit Ben Youssef Qoranic School, and the 12th-century Koutoubia Mosque, Second Largest Mosque in Morocco. 

Following that, explore famous souks of the old Medina of Marrakech, an excellent spot for shopping and picking up gifts for family, friends, or yourself. Take some time to relax in the Majorelle Gardens, a peaceful retreat in the New Town of Marrakech, Guilez. After that, wander along the Djamaa Lfna Sequare where you’ll watch some fun activities including snake charmers, musicians, storytellers…etc. 

Late afternoon, we’ll transfer you to your accommodation where you’ll spend the night. 

Day 7:Marrakech - Ait Ben Haddou - Ouarzazate - Dades Gorges (5H):

In the morning, Starting in Marrakech, the journey heads south, crossing the majestic Atlas Mountains, famous for their breathtaking panoramic views and striking landscapes. Along the way, we’ll make stop at Berber villages then continue through the Tizi N Tichka pass 2260 meters. Stop to view the captivating Atlas Mountains.

Continue to Ait Ben Haddou a UNESCO World Heritage site and one of the most impressive fortresses in southern Morocco, where several movies have been filmed like Gladiator Game of Thrones and the Mummy. 

Continue through Ouarzazate, often referred to as the “Hollywood of Africa,” where you’ll explore the Taourirt Kasbah and the famous Ouarzazate Film Studio. From there, the journey takes you through the beautiful landscapes of Skoura, where you can enjoy its lush palm groves and visit the historic Kasbah of Amridil. Afterward, the tour heads to Kalaat M’gouna, famously known as the “Rose City.”

In the late afternoon, you will arrive at the Dades Gorges and be transferred to your accommodation for the night.

Day 8:Dades Gorges- Todra Gorges - Merzouga desert (4H):

After breakfast, we continue our travel to Todra Gorges,  a Best destination for mountains climbers seeking adventure. Wander through the charming Gorges and then Continue our journey, we follow the ancient Bedouin trading routes alongside the Middle Atlas, passing several fortified villages known for their remarkable architecture. The scenic route take us to Melaab, small Berber town where you’ll stop to get Henna or the Moroccan tatoo ( Free & optional).

Then continue to Erfoud, known as the date capital, visit some fossil museums in the city. Next, we head to the incredible Merzouga desert, which mark the beginning of the vast Sahara Desert. Arriving in Merzouga, start your camel ride adventure through the incredible dunes of Merzouga. Stopping to watch sunset then continue to your desert camp where you’ll spend the night with a special drumming party around the campfire.

Day 9: Merzouga Full day sightseeing tour:

In the morning, wake up for an incredible sunrise over the lovely sand dunes of Merzouga desert, and then return to the camp for a hearty breakfast before starting your sightseeing tour of Merzouga, visit khamlia where you’ll meet black skinned African from Mali, Niger and Nambia listen to their Gnawa Music and explore their unique lifestyle. 

After that, we’ll head to the nomads behind the dunes of Merzouga living in their traditional tents, explore their way of life and try Berber Pizza. Next, visit Mefis desert where you’ll visit some fossils. Afterward, visit an ancient car national museum. After lunch  at a local restaurant in Merzouga, we’ll head to Hassi lbeid oasis, wander through the oasis, Next, we’ll transfer you to your accommodation where you’ll spend the night by the dunes of Merzouga.

Day 10:Merzouga - Ziz Valley -Er-rich - Midelt (3H):

In the morning, After breakfast at your accommodation in Merzouga, we’ll drive to Rissani, one of the old cities in Morocco, visit Moulay Ali Cherif Mausoleuum. Next, walk along the historic souks of Rissani. Following that, we pass through the amazing oases of Tafilalet admiring its incredible sceneries.
 
We first stop at Aoufous, where you’ll admire a panoramic view of the city. We then continue through the captivating Ziz Valley. Stopping at a panorama over Ziz Valley and then pass through Tizi N Talghamt pass, with breathtaking sceneries along the way. Arriving in Er-rich where you’ll stop for Lunch before continue to Midlet, marveling the lovely sceneries along the way. Upon arrival in Midlet, known as the Apple Capital we’ll transfer you to your accommodation where you’ll spend the night.

Day 11:Midelt - Cedar Forest - Ifrane - Fes (3H):

After breakfast at your accommodation in Midelt, we depart for Fes, admiring the incredible sceneries along the way. Stopping at the Cedar Forest of Azrou, Morocco’s Largest Forest and then continue to Ifrane, known as the little Switzerland of Morocco.  Then we drive through Immouzar Kander, marveling the charming sceneries along the way. Arriving in Fes transfer you to your Riad where you’ll spend the last night of your 12 days tour from Fes to Marrakech.

Day 12: Transfer to the airport:

How to book this tour? and what are the payment Methods?

To book the 12 day desert tour from Fes to Marrakech, we kindly require a small deposit to be paid via PayPal, Credit Card or Bank transfer so as to make the necessary reservations for the trip. Once the payment is received, we’ll send you the booking confirmation of your trip. The rest of the payment must be paid in cash upon pick-up time.

What is your cancellation policy if something comes up and I need to cancel?

Your deposit will be refunded if you cancel more than 15 days before the start date of your trip. If you cancel within 15 days, however, the full deposit will be charged.

Where should I meet the driver upon arrival? Is there a designated meeting point?

Our driver will pick you up from your location, whether it’s the airport or your accommodation. Please provide us with your accommodation address so that the driver will pick you up there at 8:40 a.m.

If I prefer not to go to the camp by camel, is there any other ways to get there?

Certainly, we offer a 4×4 Jeep as an alternative to camel rides for transferring you to the camp.

If I go to the camp by camel, will my luggage be transported there as well?

Absolutely, we provide a 4×4 jeep to transport your luggage to the camp.

My husband and I booked an incredible 12-day tour, and it was truly amazing. We began our journey in Fes and then explored the beautiful Blue City of Chefchaouen, Tangier, the Sahara Desert in Merzouga, and Marrakech, where we had a fantastic sightseeing tour of the city.
