12 Day Morocco tour from Tangier: Blue City, Desert & Marrakech

Upon your arrival at Tangier airport, our driver will be there to meet you and take you to your accommodation in the city. Depending on your arrival time, you might have the opportunity to visit the old Medina of Tangier and the Hercules Caves. After that, you’ll be transferred to your accommodation, where you’ll spend the first night of your 12 day Morocco desert tour from Tangier.

In the morning, we’ll depart from Tangier heading toward the Blue city of Chefchaouan, admiring the magnificent landscapes as we travel through the charming Rif Mountains. On our way to Chefchaouan, we will make a stop at Aqchour waterfalls to explore the this charming waterfalls and enjoy its breathtaking landscapes. Afterward, we continue to Chefchaouan, known as Morocco’s blue pearl.

Upon arrival in Chefchaouan, enjoy a guided city tour with visits to the Spanish mosque and walk through the bustling streets of the old Medina of Chefchaouan. Next make a visit to a local cooperative for handcrafts (optional). Finally, you will be transferred to your accommodation where you’ll spend the night marveling the silence of the city.

On the second day of our 12 day Morocco tour, we will leave the Blue city of Chefchaouan and drive to Volubilis through Ouazane, enjoying the wonderful landscapes along the journey. Following that, we arrive in Volubilis, explore the Roman ruins and learn about the archaeological site, a UNESCO world heritage site.

Afterward, we continue to the city of Meknes, founded in the 17th century and is regarded as one of Morocco’s four imperial cities. Following lunch, we stroll around the ancient walls of the Medina, visit Bab Mansour, and explore Moulay Ismail’s Mausoleum. Following our trip to Meknes, we will go to Fez where you’ll spend the third night of your 12 day Morocco desert tour from Tangier at your Riad.

After breakfast at your Riad in Fes, then Begin your full day tour of Fes with your local guide, visiting Al Qaraouine University, the oldest university in the world, before moving on to the old medina of Fes, strolling through its narrow alleyways. Afterward, make a stop at Madrassa Bouaanania, one of the most ancient educational schools in Fes, and then visit Attarine Madrasa. 

Additionally, visit Chouary tanneries, where leather is used for crafting clothes, bags, and shoes. After that, proceed with your full day sightseeing tour of Fes. In the late afternoon, explore Batha museum and Moulay Idriss Mausoleum, the founder of Fes.  Next, drive to Borj Bord for a panoramic view of the city. Finally, transfer you to your accommodation where you’ll spend the night.

Leaving Fes and heading towards the Sahara Desert of Merzouga, taking in charming sceneries along the way. Then we’ll stop in Ifrane, known as ”Morocco’s Little Switzerland,” where you’ll see the famous sculptural Atlas lion. Afterward, we’ll journey through Cedar Forest of Azrou, Morocco’s largest Forest, where you can snap photos with Barbary monkeys.

We’ll then cross the Middle Atlas Mountains, stopping in Midelt, known as ”The Apple Capital,” for lunch. After that, continue on via Tizi N Talghamt, Stopping for some lovely pictures of the Atlas Mountains covered by snow and then drive to Aoufous, where you’ll enjoy panoramic views of the Ziz Valley, home to some of the most beautiful oasis in Morocco.

Later, we’ll arrive in Arfoud, “The Date Capital,” where you can visit one of the fossil museums before going to the amazing Sahara Desert of Merzouga through the rocky desert. 

Arriving in Merzouga, Set off on a camel ride adventure across the fabulous dunes of Erg Chebbi. Stopping to watch sunset before arriving at your desert camp where you’ll spend a magical night under stars. 

Wake up early in the morning to watch a lovely sunrise over the dunes of Merzouga. After that, Start your day tour. First, visit Hassi lbeid oasis and meet nomads families living behind the dunes; learn about their lifestyle, experience Berber Pizza. On the top of that, visit Khamlia learn about Gnawa culture and listen to their music. Afterward, visit the national car museum in Tanamoust.

Following lunch at a local restaurant in Khamlia. We head to Hassi lbeid for leisure activities like Buggy, Quads, or sandboarding, If interested. In the late afternoon, we will take you to your riad where you can spend the night enjoying the peaceful atmosphere.

After a warm breakfast at your kasbah in Dades Gorges, we will journey to Kalaa M’gouna, known as the rose city and then take the road of 1000 kasbahs admiring palm groves along the way. Following that, Skoura where you’ll visit the kasbah of Ameridile; one of the oldest kasbahs in the region. 

Upon arrival in Ouarzazate visit Taourirt Kasbah and Film Studio of Ouarzazate. Afterward, we are going to Ait Ben Haddou, soaking the best landscapes along the way. Later stop for a visit to Ait Ben Haddou, UNESCO world heriatge site and where movies have been shot like Gladiator, Game of Thrones and The Mummy.

Following that, drive to Marrakech through the High Atlas Mountains, enjoy a panoramic view over the Tizi N Tichka pass 2260 meters. Late afternoon, we arrive in the vibrant city of Marrakech, drop you off at your accommodation where you’ll spend the night.

Following a fantastic breakfast at your riad, we depart from the desert and head towards the historic city of Rissani. Later stop at Moulay Ali Cherif Mausoleum before exploring the bustling souks of Rissani. After that, continue your trip towards Todra Gorges and enjoy the magnificent sceneries along the journey.

Next, we”ll stop in Fezna, where you can visit Khetarat, an old system of Irrigation used by Berbers to water their farms. Then continue your trip through Tourog and Melaab. Along the way, you will have the opportunity to visit a Berber cooperative belonging to a local Berber family. During your visit, you can try Henna or Moroccan Tattoo and try on a Berber wedding dress (optional).

After that, make our way to Todra Gorges, enjoying the wonderful views along the journey, appreciating the impressive oasis of Tinghir. As soon as we reach Todra Gorges, we stroll through its breathtaking canyon. Following a delicious lunch at the heart of the gorges, we continue towards Dades Gorges, enjoying the charming views on our journey.

Upon reaching Dades Gorges, take in a scenic drive along the curvy road of Tisadrine and the rock formation known as ”Monkey Fingers”. In the late afternoon, you’ll be transferred to your accommodation where you’ll spend the night in Dades Valley.

In the morning, you will explore Marrakech on a fulll day sightseeing tour of the city with your local tour guide. Firstly, walk around Marrakech, known as “the red city of Morocco” we’ll start by visiting Majorelle Gardens, Koutoubia Mosque, Saadian Tombs, and Bahia Palace.

After that, explore the old Medina of Marrakech, take a stroll through its bustling streets, and then head to Souk Semmarine and visit Madrasa Ben Youssef, one of the oldest Qoranic schools in Morocco. Afterward, continue your full day tour with a visit to Djamaa Lfna square where you will enjoy watching various fun activities such as snake charmers, musicians, storytellers…etc. Following that, you’ll be transferred to your accommodation where you’ll spend the night.

After breakfast at your Riad in Marrakech, we continue your 12 day Morocco Tour by taking you to the coastal city of Essaouira for a relaxing and tranquil experience. On the way, we’ll pass through Chichaoua, known for its beautiful Argan trees. Next, Stop to visit a cooperative on the way to Essaouira. Furthermore, admire the greatest sceneries along the way. Afterward, we’ll stop at the harvesting goats on the road to Essaouira for some amazing photographs.

Arriving in Essaouira, enjoy a tour of Essaouira by visiting the old Medina of Essaouira; walk along its lovely beaches. Later visit Essaouira port and enjoy lunch by the beach. Late afternoon, transfer you to your accommodation where you’ll spend the night.

Pick you up from your Hotel in Essaouira,and then we will drive to Casablanca, enjoying the beautiful sceneries along the way. Upon arrrigval in Casablanca, then we will visit Hassan II Mosque, Africa’s second largest mosque and then explore Casablanca’s historic Medina before continuing on to Rabat, Morocco’s capital city, where you will visit Hassan Tower, Mohamed V’s Mausoleum and Oudaya Kasbah. Late afternoon, stroll around Chellah’s bustling Souks. Afterward, take you to Rabat beach for a sunset view and then transfer you to your Hotel where you’ll spend the night.

Today is the last day of your 12 day Morocco desert tour from Tangier to Tangier. After breakfast at your hotel in Rabat, continue your tour toward Tangier stopping at Assilah, one of the best Coastal cities in Morocco, make a visit to the old Medina of Assilah. Following that, continue to Tangier enjoying the coastal views along the Atlantic ocean.
